Overview and Qualifications In the role of a PACU Registered Nurse, you will be essential in providing immediate post-operative care to surgical patients. Your duties will encompass managing airway support, closely observing neurological and cardiac conditions, and swiftly addressing any complications or adverse effects. You will also administer initial wound care at the surgical site and ensure patient stability during their recovery phase. Collaboration with the surgical and anesthesia teams will be a key aspect of your role. This position requires on-call availability during specific non-business hours, which will be discussed during the interview process. Position Highlights: Self-scheduling options available, posted four weeks in advance Supportive leadership that fosters a collaborative and respectful team environment, encouraging nurses to ask questions, seek assistance, and share valuable insights Access to staffing support from Certified Nurse Assistants, Patient Care Technicians, Charge Nurses, and an internal RN float pool as needed Regular rounding with unit leaders, including charge nurses, to ensure your suggestions for patient care are acknowledged Your Responsibilities: Provide high-quality, patient-focused care while implementing evidence-based practices and continuous improvement strategies Act as a vital member of a dynamic interdisciplinary team, collaborating with providers, therapists, and others Utilize the nursing process, critical thinking, scientific judgment, technical skills, and leadership to independently ensure safe nursing care for patients Evaluate patient conditions, monitor them throughout your shift, and meticulously document any changes along with the care provided Educate patients and their families or caregivers about medical conditions, treatment plans, and follow-up procedures Required Qualifications: Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification must be obtained within six months of starting employment Basic Cardiac Life Support certification Pediatric Advanced Life Support certification must be obtained within six months of starting employment Registered Nurse (RN) license Benefits Our medical center offers a comprehensive rewards package that supports the health, life, career, and retirement of our team members.
