Critical Care Float Pool Registered Nurse

The position is for a Critical Care Float Pool Registered Nurse. Staffing ratios are 1:1-2 during days and nights, with an average daily census of 12 to 30. The unit consists of 30 rooms. Float requirements will include Neuro, Med Surg, and Cardiac ICU. Clinicians are expected to float to other units as needed. Weekend coverage is required, typically every third weekend. General skills required include conscious sedation, telemetry, and vents. Preferred skills include ICP monitoring and pulmonary artery line experience. The patient population includes adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. Typical patient diagnoses include CICU, CVICU, Covid ICU, MICU, Neuro ICU, SICU, and trauma cases. Special equipment includes ventilators. Collaboration with interdisciplinary teams such as physical therapy, respiratory services, and pharmacy is essential. Compliance with background checks and fingerprinting requirements is mandatory. Traveling staff must be aware of and adhere to local regulations regarding proximity to the facility. References from previous supervisors are required. Candidates are encouraged to be proactive in managing potential scheduling conflicts.
