Registered Nurse RN- Admit and Recovery Unit

Description Registered Nurse Surgical Admit & Recovery at St. Joseph’s Health provides high-quality nursing care to patients before and after surgical procedures, ensuring safe transitions between preoperative and post-anesthesia care phases during variable hours (5:00 am–9:00 pm, 1 Saturday every 6 weeks). The role is full‑time with rotating shift schedule. Schedule Full time – 40 hour day/evening rotating shift. Responsibilities Assess and prepare patients for surgery, including reviewing medical history and administering preoperative medications and monitoring patients in the Pre‑Op area to ensure they are stable and ready for surgery. Provide immediate post‑anesthesia care with monitoring of vital signs and assessment for complications. Educate patients and families on post‑operative care, discharge instructions, and recovery expectations. Apply strong assessment, critical thinking, and patient advocacy skills, and respond quickly to changing patient conditions in a fast‑paced setting. Minimum Qualifications Education: Graduate of an accredited college or university with a nursing program. BSN preferred. Licensure: Current RN license in New York. Certification: BLS/CPR required; CNOR or CPAN certification is a plus. Experience: Minimum of 1–2 years in Pre‑Op, PACU, or surgical/perioperative nursing. Pay Pay Range: $38.75 – $54.85 per hour.
