Medical Surgical Registered Nurse (RN)

Position Overview

The Medical Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) position involves providing direct patient care in a 54-bed acute care unit. This role requires a strong understanding of medical-surgical nursing practices and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Shift Details

• Schedule: 3x12-hour shifts per week
• Night Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Holidays: As needed

Patient Care Ratios

The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:6, ensuring safe and efficient care delivery.

Floating Requirements

Candidates must be willing to float within their scope to meet unit and facility needs, including floating between similar units or facilities if necessary.

Qualifications

• Required: Minimum of 2 years of experience in Medical Surgical nursing
• Licensure: South Carolina license or Compact license required prior to start
• Certifications:
  
  
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) required
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) required
• Special Skills:
  
  
  • IV start skills required
  • Experience with telemetry and management of cardiac drips preferred

Facility Information

This is an acute care hospital with a total of 119 staffed beds. The facility utilizes Epic for charting, and parking is available free of charge in designated areas. Travelers should be mindful of hurricane season, as all staff may be assigned to emergency response teams during this time.
