Why Join Rincon Research Corporation (RRC)?At Rincon Research Corporation, our primary business is innovating, developing, and fielding digital signal processing (DSP) products and services for the United States Defense and Intelligence Communities in support of national security.Rincon Research Corporation (RRC), an employee owned company, is seeking a talented, tenacious, results-driven individual to work in a multi-disciplinary R&D environment with similarly motivated electrical engineers, mathematicians, computer scientists, and analysts who are collectively responsible for creating custom digital signal processing solutions and leveraging them to make an operational mission impact.Come join the team that is creating cutting edge signal processing and geolocation systems for the future!What are the primary responsibilities in the Sr. Software Engineer position?Responsible for overseeing the expanded development of an existing C++, Python, and Next.js React program with new features, bug fixes, and capabilities.Responsible for overseeing the development of an existing portfolio of programs at multiple security domains, deconflicting software modifications within those domains, and reconciling changes back to a master repository.Responsible for the integration of an existing program onto multiple different software/hardware platforms and ensuring code bases do not become fractured or interfering. Responsible for managing and tracking multiple releases with different feature sets across these platforms.Responsible for the architecture, design, development, and deployment of high-quality and secure code.What are the additional responsibilities in the Sr. Software Engineer position?Responsible for research, design, and development of computer software systems, in conjunction with hardware product development.Oversees all phases of the software development life cycle, including requirements analysis, design, implementation, integration, and test of software products.Applies computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis concepts and principles in the development of software for the target application.Works closely with cross-functional members of the engineering organization to develop and evaluate interfaces between hardware and software, and operational performance requirements and design of the overall system.Develops software test procedures, software programs, and related documentation.Communicates within and outside of the organization to explain and influence changes to practices, processes and approaches.Makes significant improvements in processes, systems, or products.Provides input into new products/processes and implements operational plans that have measurable impact on business or functional results.What required background will make you successful?Active TS/SCI Security Clearance (US CITIZENSHIP REQUIRED)Knowledge of software design principles including industry best practices and design trendsAbility to communicate software and algorithm design, complexity analysis, and performance metrics in written and oral reportsAbility to quickly grasp and come up-to-speed with large software code basesPreferred skills:Demonstrated experience developing and maintaining web applications with REACTExperience with Git based revision control systems, and agile development practicesREST API design20+ years' experience with programming languages including Python and C or C++Experience with developing GPU code using CUDA librariesFamiliarity with additional high-level languages (Shell Scripting, etc.)Where is the position located?This position is located at our Tucson, AZ Headquarters.*The likely salary range for this position is $229,000 to $280,000. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary.
