Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical

Job Description

Job Summary:
Provide comprehensive nursing care to surgical and medical patients in a high-acuity hospital setting. Ensure patient safety, comfort, and promote optimal recovery through evidence-based practices.

Responsibilities:

• Assess and monitor patients' conditions upon admission and throughout their stay.
• Administer medications, treatments, and wound care as prescribed by physicians.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.
• Document patient information accurately in the Cerner documentation system.
• Educate patients and their families regarding post-operative care and recovery processes.
• Respond promptly to patient emergencies and escalate concerns as necessary.

Qualifications:

• Hold a valid Maryland or Compact RN license at the time of submission.
• Possess a minimum of 2 years of recent acute care experience in a medical-surgical or similar setting.
• Maintain current BLS and ACLS certifications.
• Demonstrate proficiency with Cerner electronic medical records system.
• Exhibit strong critical thinking, communication, and teamwork skills.
• Be willing to float within the hospital scope as required.
