Make a meaningful difference in the lives of students as a Personal Care Aide (PCA) supporting a vibrant school community near Clarks Summit, PA. This contract opportunity spans multiple elementary, intermediate, and high schools, with immediate openings through June 2027. You’ll play a crucial part in ensuring students with diverse needs receive the individualized support they deserve in both academic and social settings.
Desired Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a Paraprofessional or PCA, especially in school settings
- Pennsylvania credentials preferred; fully credentialed candidates will be prioritized
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to adapt to varied classroom environments and student needs
- Flexibility regarding school assignment, as placements are based on district requirements
- Completion or willingness to obtain Act 151 (Child Abuse), Act 114 (FBI Fingerprinting), Act 126 (Child Abuse Recognition), and PATCH/Act 134 (state background check)
- Recent physical (within 60 days of start date)
- Two-step TB test or Quantiferon TB blood test
- Willingness to complete a drug screen and Act 168 form (if applicable)
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one support for students with personal care and classroom participation
- Assist students with daily activities, tasks, and healthcare needs as directed by educational staff
- Foster an inclusive and supportive learning environment
- Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and families to promote student independence
