Join a mission-driven academic health system where clinical excellence, education, and innovation come together to improve outcomes for some of the region's highest-risk pregnancies.This role is a flexible role within the department of OB/GYN to help meet the clinical needs of the department to include outpatient, rural, and inpatient work and is eligible for faculty appointment at associate professor or professor rank within UNC school of Med.Specific responsibilities include:Teaching responsibilities as a core faculty member and clinician for a unique rural Maternal Fetal Medicine ProgramParticipation in MFM didactics, simulation events, and other teaching needsSupervision of MFM Fellows, OB/GYN residents, family practice residents, and medical studentsFellowship administration including creation of didactic curriculum, compliance with ACGME and program guidelinesClinical activities including practice of MFM, general MFM duties, and supervision of fellow and resident outpatient clinics, inpatient care, obstetric surgeriesResearch, scholar, and academic activities including publication of original research, extramural peer-reviewed funding, and participation in national committees or educational organizationsAdditionally:Supports a robust research curriculum for MFM fellowsExpands existing regional research collaborations and develops new relationships for researchProvides scholarly activity project oversight and mentoring for MFM FellowsKey competencies include:Communication SkillsDecision MakingHealthCare KnowledgeInterpersonal SkillsOrganizational ValuesProblem SolvingSpecified skills include:Excellent skills in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and database applications requiredSpanish speaking skills preferredEducation and experience:Minimum qualifications: 3-5 years of clinical MFM practice beyond fellowship, ABOG certified in OBGYN and MFM, Medical License in NCPreferred qualifications: Bilingual Spanish/English skillsRequired licenses:Current North Carolina Medical LicenseSchedule:Regular attendance on-site is an essential function of this position. Typical business hours are Monday – Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm (or flexed to best meet the needs of the clients and/or the Division); 40 hours per work week, and weekend, holiday, or evening coverage is required for Maternal Fetal Medicine back-up call.In-house labor and delivery call is available if desired but not required.
