Job Description

This Help Desk Technician role is responsible for providing onsite IT technical support to customers, handling support tickets and help desk calls, and performing maintenance, updates, and minor system upgrades across computers, network equipment, and software applications. The position requires a proactive, customer-focused mindset with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team, reporting directly to the client contact. Occasional travel to client sites is expected, and the role offers opportunities for advancement and skill development through diverse projects and learning new technologies.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with on-site client contact to prioritize and resolve IT issues
• Troubleshoot and repair laptops, desktops, printers, and mobile devices
• Perform regular and proactive maintenance on hardware and software
• Manage support tickets and help desk calls efficiently
• Provide basic training to end users on software platforms and tools
• Document all activities, issues, and resolutions in the service management system
• Maintain professional and effective interactions with customers, peers, and management
• Employ help desk software, IT management tools, and in-house developed systems

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year experience providing desktop support in a professional business environment
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
• Valid New York State driver’s license

Preferred Qualifications

• Hardware and software troubleshooting expertise
• Experience administering Microsoft Office 365
• Working knowledge of basic networking equipment and protocols
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Technical documentation and problem-solving abilities
