Rheumatology Nurse Practitioner

Advanced Rheumatology of Houston is seeking a motivated and compassionate Nurse Practitioner to join our established and growing private practice in The Woodlands, Texas. This position offers the opportunity to work alongside an experienced rheumatologist while providing comprehensive care to patients with autoimmune, inflammatory, and musculoskeletal conditions.

About the Position:

The Nurse Practitioner will evaluate, diagnose, treat, and monitor patients with a variety of rheumatologic conditions. The ideal candidate is confident managing chronic and complex diseases, communicates effectively with patients and staff, and is committed to delivering high-quality, individualized care.

The average patient volume is approximately 15–20 patients per day .

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments, including medical histories and physical examinations.
• Diagnose and manage conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, gout, osteoarthritis, and other rheumatologic diseases.
• Order, review, and interpret laboratory testing and diagnostic imaging.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
• Manage and monitor biologic medications, DMARD therapies, and other specialty treatments.
• Evaluate patient response to treatment and adjust care plans as appropriate.
• Educate patients regarding their diagnoses, medications, treatment options, and long-term disease management.
• Collaborate closely with the supervising physician and clinical team.
• Maintain accurate, thorough, and timely documentation in the electronic medical record.

Qualifications:

• Active and unrestricted Texas Nurse Practitioner license.
• Current board certification as an FNP, ANP, or AGNP.
• Two years of rheumatology experience preferred.
• Strong clinical judgment, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and patient-education skills.
• Ability to manage chronic and medically complex patients.
• Experience with biologic therapies and infusion protocols is a plus.
