Position Overview: The Division of Developmental Disabilities is seeking to hire a Dental Hygienist for the Murray Developmental Center located in Centralia, Illinois to perform technical and advisory services in dental hygiene including prophylaxis. Performs educational and organizational work in promoting oral hygiene. Assists in preparing patients for dental treatment including lifting patients from wheelchairs into the dental chair.
Minimum Qualifications: Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to completion of four (4) years of high school, supplemented by completion of two (2) years of college with course work in dental hygiene. Requires Illinois certificate as registered dental hygienist.
Conditions of Employment: Requires the ability to bend, stoop, reach, lift and carry heavy loads. Requires the ability to utilize office equipment, including personal computers. Requires the ability to work after business hours, weekends and holidays. Requires the ability to travel in the performance of job duties. Requires ability to pass the IDHS background check. Requires ability to pass a drug screen for drugs prohibited from recreational use under Illinois Law.
Work Hours: Monday - Friday 8:00am - 4:00pm, 30-minute unpaid lunch
