DISTRIBUTOR STAFF ACCOUNTANT

General Accountant

This position will be responsible for performing various general accounting duties including account reconciliations, Accounts Receivable/Payables, GL entries and reporting.

Duties & Responsibilities

•Adheres to company policies and presents a professional, positive attitude at all times.

•Maintain general ledger accounts by preparing and posting general ledger entries.

•Calculate, prepare, and issue customer invoices and statements using Accounting/ERP software.

•Check figures, postings, and documents for coding, mathematical accuracy and entry.

•Calculate and prepare checks for invoices, taxes and other payments.

•Receive and record customer payments received by lockbox, mail, credit cards and ACH.

•Assist accounting personnel in performing management reporting and other clerical work as needed.

•Answer customer calls related to accounting questions.

•Assist Sales Representatives.

•Train with other accountants to provide coverage during absences.

•Gather records and prepare schedule/questionnaires for audits.

•Comply with all federal, state, and company policies, procedures and regulations.

•Other duties as needed or assigned.

Qualifications

•High school diploma or GED required. Bachelor's Degree (B.A/B.S) in Accounting, Finance or related field strongly preferred; combination of school or professional training and experience may be considered.

•Minimum two (2) years' accounting experience required; Two or more (2+) years' clerical work in accounting strongly preferred.

•Strong bookkeeping and accounting skills required, high level proficiency in accounting software, ERP software, and Microsoft Office.
