Clinical Trial Contracts & Budget Lead, Remote
Merck
Merck seeks a Clinical Trial Contracts & Budget Lead to manage contract preparation, negotiation, and budget analysis for clinical research protocols across assigned countries. The role ensures compliance with ICH/GCP standards and company policies while coordinating with internal teams and investigational sites.
Responsibilities
- Prepare, analyze, negotiate, and execute clinical trial agreements and budgets including CTRAs, MCTRAs, and associated documents
- Maintain contract databases and files following naming conventions and perform quality control checks before execution
- Coordinate with Clinical Research Managers, CTCs, CRAs, and regulatory teams to meet site-ready deliverables and timelines
- Identify risks, develop mitigation plans, and liaise with payment coordinators and finance teams on approvals and amendments
- Lead initiatives and projects while mentoring COM team members and serving as subject matter expert on processes and best practices
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or higher
- 3+ years negotiating contracts or budgets
- Expertise in clinical trial compliance and ICH GCP guidelines
- Strong negotiation and influencing skills
- Proficiency in clinical site management and project management
- Juris Doctor degree (preferred)
