Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Interim Practice Manager to oversee daily operations for a dermatology clinic in Northwest Houston. This position will provide hands-on leadership, manage clinical and administrative workflows, and ensure efficient patient flow and exceptional patient service. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in medical practice management, dermatology operations, and staff supervision, with the ability to step into a leadership role and maintain operational continuity during this interim assignment.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily clinic operations, including patient scheduling, staff coordination, clinical workflows, and overall practice efficiency.
• Supervise and support clinical and administrative staff, including hiring, training, coaching, attendance management, and performance documentation.
• Manage practice workflows and reporting through eClinicalWorks to support efficient scheduling, patient flow, and operational performance.
• Monitor financial operations, including insurance verification, copays, deductibles, prior authorizations, claims, denials, and revenue cycle processes.
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, and applicable healthcare regulations while maintaining established practice policies and procedures.
• Collaborate with providers and leadership to resolve operational challenges, improve processes, and maintain a positive patient experience.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Minimum of three years of previous medical practice management experience with knowledge of MGMA Principles of Practice Management.
• High School Diploma or equivalent is required; a Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
• Working knowledge of HIPAA and OSHA healthcare compliance requirements.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, sorting, filtering, and basic reporting.
• Experience with eClinicalWorks, including scheduling, clinic workflows, staff management, and reporting.
• Knowledge of dermatology procedures, medical terminology, and clinic workflows.
• Understanding of insurance and revenue cycle processes, including eligibility, copays, deductibles, prior authorizations, claims, and denials.
• Knowledge of physician practice management principles covered by the AAPC Certified Physician Practice Manager (CPPM) program.
• Experience with HR and employee management, including hiring, coaching, documentation, disciplinary procedures, and attendance management.
• Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and adapt quickly.

Hiring at the maximum of the range would not be typical in order to allow for future & continued salary growth.
