Cascadia College (PC), located in Cascadia, is seeking an experienced Human Resources Generalist to join a dynamic community that prioritizes equity, diversity, and inclusion. The position is vital to partnering with the Assistant Director of Human Resources and team members to support employees throughout the entire employment life cycle. Position Overview Both titles are identical; the role involves independently performing professional HR assignments that require judgment and analysis under minimal direction. Daily duties include managing benefits, processing compensation and contracts, and overseeing recruitment, screening, selection, and equity‑focused hiring. The Generalist is expected to demonstrate empathy, champion inclusive decision‑making, and actively counter institutionalized norms of oppression. Responsibilities Benefits Administration: Determine health‑insurance and retirement eligibility, provide timely notification, and ensure accurate enrollment and documentation in compliance with COBRA and Washington state regulations. Compensation & Payroll Coordination: Process salary administration activities, secure correct initial salary placement, and collaborate with Payroll to monitor increments, adjustments, and contract delivery. Recruitment & Hiring: Develop and implement recruitment strategies, perform job analyses, collaborate with hiring authorities on qualifications, train interview panels, maintain records, and support the Equity Advocate Hiring Program. Employee Relations & Investigations: Conduct Title X and other investigations, provide counsel on reasonable accommodations, and represent the college in disputes. Unemployment & Workers’ Compensation: Monitor claims, provide employer information to statutory agencies, and assist employees with claims and returns to work. Process Improvement & Policy Work: Assist in drafting policies and MOUs, identify staffing and workflow improvements, and support contract work with unions. Governance: Participate in campus committees and advise on equitable policies. Perform any other related duties as requested. Qualifications Minimum: Associate degree in human resources, organizational behavioral sciences, or related field and at least one year of HR support experience, OR equivalent education and experience; knowledge of HR practices, state and federal laws, and collective‑ bargaining agreements; commitment to equity and inclusion. Preferred: Bachelor’s degree, Professional Human Resources (PHR) or SHRM‑CP certification, experience in higher‑education or government HR, experience with HRIS and ATS systems, Title IX investigation experience, and experience working in a union environment. Employee Type & Compensation Type: Full‑time, exempt, permanent. Salary: $72,244.68 annually, inclusive of 5% King County Premium Pay. Supervising Position: Assistant Director of Human Resources.
