Transform.\n\nTurning Point is seeking an experienced, visionary, and mission-driven Director of Treatment Services to lead the next chapter of our treatment services.\nThis is not simply a clinical management position.\n\nWe are looking for a leader who can build a high-performing treatment team, grow our client census, strengthen community and referral partnerships, and help transform the way culturally specific treatment services are delivered.\n\nThe Director of Treatment Services will provide strategic, operational, and clinical leadership for Turning Point’s treatment programs while ensuring services remain high-quality, culturally responsive, client-centered, and aligned with Minnesota’s substance use disorder treatment requirements.\nThe ideal candidate is someone who sees both the people and the possibilities, a leader who understands that excellent treatment requires excellent staff, strong systems, meaningful community relationships, and services that reflect the lived experiences of the people we serve.\nIf you are energized by the opportunity to build something stronger, grow something meaningful, and create treatment services that truly connect with clients, we want to meet you.\n\nAbout the Opportunity\nThe Director of Treatment Services will play a critical role in strengthening and expanding Turning Point’s treatment services.\n\nThis leader will be responsible for ensuring the treatment department has the people, structure, systems, programming, partnerships, and strategy necessary to deliver exceptional services and support sustainable growth.\n\nA key priority will be developing a strong and cohesive treatment team. The Director will recruit, coach, develop, and retain talented professionals while establishing a culture of accountability, collaboration, professional growth, and excellence.\n\nThe Director will also be expected to take an active role in growing the organization’s client census by strengthening referral relationships, increasing community awareness, identifying barriers to access, improving the client experience, and developing strategies that expand participation in Turning Point’s treatment programs.\n\nAnother major priority will be leading the development and implementation of culturally specific treatment services and curriculum that authentically reflect the communities Turning Point serves.\n\nThis position offers the opportunity to influence not only how services are delivered today, but how Turning Point’s treatment model evolves for the future.\n\nWhat You’ll Do\nBuild & Lead a High-Performing Treatment Team\n\n Provide strong, visible leadership to the treatment services department.\n Recruit, onboard, coach, develop, and retain a talented and diverse treatment team.\n Establish clear expectations, roles, performance standards, and measures of success.\n Create a culture that balances accountability with staff support, professional development, and psychological safety.\n Identify staffing needs and develop strategies to ensure the treatment department has the appropriate capacity to support client needs and organizational growth.\n Provide regular supervision, coaching, feedback, and professional development opportunities.\n Identify opportunities to improve team communication, collaboration, workflow, and morale.\n Develop emerging leaders within the treatment team.\n Foster a multidisciplinary approach to client care and ensure strong collaboration across departments.\n\nGrow Client Census & Access to Treatment\nThis role is expected to be a key driver of treatment program growth.\n\n Develop and implement strategies to increase referrals, admissions, engagement, retention, and overall client census.\n Establish and maintain strong referral relationships with healthcare providers, community organizations, social service agencies, courts, schools, culturally specific organizations, and other community partners.\n Identify populations and communities that could benefit from Turning Point’s services and develop strategies to improve access.\n Analyze referral, admission, census, discharge, and retention data to identify trends and opportunities.\n Identify barriers that prevent prospective clients from accessing or remaining engaged in treatment and develop solutions.\n Partner with leadership and community engagement staff to increase awareness of Turning Point’s treatment services.\n Develop a treatment growth strategy that balances increased census with staffing capacity, clinical quality, client outcomes, and regulatory compliance.\n Establish measurable goals related to census growth and regularly report progress to organizational leadership.\n\nDevelop & Implement Culturally Specific Treatment Services\nLead the work of making culturally specific care an integral part of the \nTurning Point treatment experience.\n\n Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of culturally specific treatment services and curriculum.\n Ensure treatment programming reflects the cultural experiences, identities, strengths, values, and needs of the communities Turning Point serves.\n Evaluate existing curriculum and treatment practices for cultural relevance, accessibility, and effectiveness.\n Partner with clients, staff, community members, cultural leaders, and community-based organizations to inform treatment programming.\n Integrate culturally responsive practices into assessment, treatment planning, group services, individual services, care coordination, discharge planning, and other areas of service delivery.\n Ensure culturally specific programming is more than a standalone initiative—it should be reflected throughout the treatment experience.\n Support staff in developing cultural humility, awareness, and skills necessary to provide effective and responsive services.\n Monitor the effectiveness of culturally specific programming and use client feedback, outcomes, and data to continuously improve services.\n Help position Turning Point as a leader in culturally responsive and culturally specific substance use disorder treatment.\n\nMinnesota’s 245G requirements specifically recognize the importance of considering a client’s cultural differences and special needs in treatment services, making this work both mission-aligned and operationally important. (MN Revisor’s Office)\n\nProvide Clinical & Program Leadership\n\n Oversee the delivery of high-quality treatment services consistent with Turning Point’s mission, policies, clinical standards, and applicable regulatory requirements.\n Ensure treatment services are delivered in accordance with individual treatment plans and applicable Minnesota requirements.\n Monitor clinical quality, client outcomes, documentation, service delivery, and program effectiveness.\n Establish and monitor treatment department performance metrics.\n Identify opportunities for quality improvement and operational efficiencies.\n Ensure the treatment department maintains readiness for licensing reviews, audits, and other regulatory requirements.\n Partner with compliance and organizational leadership to address identified risks and implement corrective actions.\n Stay current on changes in Minnesota substance use disorder treatment regulations, best practices, evidence-informed practices, and emerging treatment approaches.\n Ensure treatment staff receive required training and ongoing professional development.\n\nStrengthen Community Partnerships\n\n Serve as a visible ambassador for Turning Point’s treatment services within the community.\n Build relationships with referral sources and strategic partners.\n Represent Turning Point at community meetings, professional events, conferences, and other relevant forums.\n Develop partnerships with culturally specific organizations and community leaders.\n Identify opportunities for collaboration, referral development, and program expansion.\n Help increase Turning Point’s visibility and reputation as a trusted provider of culturally responsive treatment services.\n\nUse Data to Drive Growth & Impact\n\n Develop and maintain meaningful treatment department performance measures.\n Monitor client census, referrals, admissions, retention, discharge patterns, staffing, service utilization, and client outcomes.\n Use data to identify trends, gaps, opportunities, and areas requiring intervention.\n Develop dashboards or regular reports to communicate treatment performance to executive leadership.\n Establish clear short- and long-term goals for treatment services.\n Translate data into actionable strategies that improve both client outcomes and organizational sustainability.\n\nWhat Success Looks Like\nWe will know you’ve been successful when:\n\nThe Team Is Stronger\nTurning Point has a highly engaged, well-supported, accountable treatment team with the right people in the right roles and a clear path for professional growth.\n\nThe Census Is Growing\nReferral relationships are stronger, access to services has expanded, and Turning Point’s treatment programs are serving more clients without compromising quality.\n\nThe Treatment Model Is More Culturally Responsive\nCulturally specific curriculum and practices are meaningfully integrated into treatment services and are reflected in the client experience.\n\nClients Are Having Better Experiences\nClients feel seen, respected, understood, and supported throughout their treatment journey.\n\nThe Program Is Built for Sustainable Growth\nTreatment services have the systems, staffing structure, partnerships, performance measures, and leadership necessary to continue growing.\n\nTurning Point Is Recognized as a Leader\nTurning Point is increasingly recognized within the community as a trusted provider of high-quality, culturally responsive treatment services.\n\nRequirements:\nWhat We’re Looking For\nWe are looking for a leader who brings clinical credibility, business and operational acumen, cultural responsiveness, and a genuine passion for building strong teams and expanding access to treatment.Required \n\nQualifications\n\n Meets the qualifications for a Treatment Director under Minnesota Statutes §245G.11, including: \n \n At least one year of work experience providing direct services to individuals with substance use disorder or at least one year of experience managing or administering direct services to individuals with substance use disorder; and\n A baccalaureate degree or three years of work experience in administration or personnel supervision in human services.
