Where you'll be

Based on-site at our Cleveland, Ohio office.

Life in this role

Morning starts with a walkthrough of the residence hall: you greet students, review overnight notes, and prepare the morning report and pass list. Midday may find you coordinating dorm government, sitting in on peer court, or coaching students through group sessions. In the afternoon, you might lead recreational activities on or off Center, help facilitate clothing trips, or transport students to airports, stores, or bus stations. Evenings often include dorm meetings, room inspections, documentation updates, and a final check that the living environment is safe, respectful, and set up for tomorrow’s success.

What you'll do

• Create and sustain a safe, positive residence hall culture that supports healthy peer relationships and student success.
• Guide students toward strong habits, constructive behavior, and progress on personal goals and program objectives.
• Identify when students should meet with counselors or health services and make timely referrals.
• Oversee dorm activities, including dorm government and peer court, ensuring structure and fairness.
• Plan and support on- and off-Center recreation; supervise outings and campus events.
• Provide transportation for students for Center-approved needs (e.g., recreation, airports, stores, bus stations).
• Prepare and submit administrative items such as the morning report, pass list, evaluations, and other student correspondence.
• Lead residence hall upkeep: conduct room and common-area inspections, organize cleanups, and report maintenance issues; recommend or request supplies that support safety and daily living.
• Facilitate group counseling sessions and dorm meetings per schedule; support new-student orientation and serve on Center committees as assigned.
• Maintain accurate, complete dorm and individual student files with all required documentation.
• Participate in student training and collaborate on interdepartmental teams to assess progress and outcomes.
• Serve as CDO when designated in the absence of the social development manager or dorm supervisors.
• Safeguard students and property; model and enforce safety practices at all times.
• Foster a campus climate free from harassment, intimidation, and disrespect—where everyone can work and learn safely.
• Model and mentor career success standards, track skill development, and intervene constructively when behavior veers off course.
• Assist with monitoring student clothing trips as needed.
• Complete other related duties as assigned.

• Strict adherence to safety policies and proper use of required PPE.
• Compliance with standard operating procedures and personnel policies.

Qualifications Must haves

• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
• Mandatory:
  • Successfully pass any background check and/drug test required on the contract.

Great to have

• Experience with the Job Corps program.
• Background in residential youth services.
• Associate’s degree in counseling, social work, rehabilitation, or a closely related field.
• Two years of experience working with youth.
