NurseAmerica is seeking an experienced and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join a leading outpatient oncology practice in Columbia, MD. This Contract-to-Hire opportunity offers the chance to work alongside a collaborative multidisciplinary team providing exceptional care to patients undergoing radiation oncology treatment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments, including medical history, laboratory results, treatment response, and psychosocial needs
- Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans
- Administer prescribed medications and supportive therapies
- Monitor patients for treatment-related side effects and coordinate care interventions as needed
- Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans, symptom management, and follow-up care
- Provide emotional support and advocacy throughout the patient care journey
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
- Coordinate treatment authorizations, referrals, scheduling, and patient follow-up
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, infection control, and safety standards
- Collaborate closely with physicians, advanced practice providers, radiation therapists, and other clinical team members
- Active Maryland RN License or Compact RN License
- Current BLS Certification
- Minimum 1-3 years of Registered Nurse experience
- Oncology experience strongly preferred
- Experience in Radiation Oncology, Oncology, Hematology, or outpatient cancer care settings preferred
- Excellent clinical assessment, communication, and patient education skills
- Outpatient Oncology Practice
- Day Shift Schedule
- Exposure to radiation treatment environments
- Frequent standing, walking, and occasional lifting up to 40 pounds
- Competitive pay rate of $45-$50/hour
