Role Description The Senior Loan Processor is responsible for managing mortgage loan files from application through closing in a full-time, hybrid role based in Schaumburg, IL, with some work-from-home flexibility. Day-to-day responsibilities include reviewing and verifying loan documents, ensuring application completeness, and coordinating with loan officers, underwriters, and other stakeholders to move loans efficiently through the pipeline. The role involves assessing borrower information, monitoring underwriting conditions, obtaining and organizing required documentation, and ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements. The Senior Loan Processor will communicate regularly with borrowers and internal partners to provide status updates, resolve issues, and help ensure on-time closings. This position requires strong attention to detail, the ability to manage multiple files simultaneously, and a focus on delivering an excellent customer experience. Qualifications Strong expertise in loan processing, including managing Loans from application through closing and ensuring pipeline efficiency. Proficiency in handling and reviewing Loan Documents with accuracy and attention to detail, including disclosures, income, asset, and credit documentation. Experience collaborating with Underwriting teams, understanding underwriting guidelines, and clearing conditions in a timely manner. Effective Communication skills for interacting with borrowers, loan officers, underwriters, and other team members, both verbally and in writing. Previous experience as a loan processor or senior loan processor in residential mortgage lending, preferably with conventional, FHA, VA, and other common loan products. Knowledge of mortgage regulations, investor and agency guidelines, and compliance requirements. Ability to prioritize and manage multiple files, meet tight deadlines, and work accurately in a fast-paced environment. Comfort with mortgage origination systems and related technology; proficiency in standard office software (e.g., Microsoft Office). High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or relevant professional certifications in mortgage or finance are beneficial.
