Patient Care Tech - PCT – Surgery Full time – Day shift – 36 hours The Patient Care Tech Intern works under the supervision of a nurse, and taking into consideration the developmental needs of the patient, performs routine patient activities and delegated patient care procedures of a specialized and technical nature as competency documentation designates. The Johns Hopkins Hospital (Marburg 2) – As the primary unit for our foregut & colorectal surgery services, we provide specialized care and patient education for all things GI surgery related. Our small unit size allows us to work closely together in a multidisciplinary approach, relying on our unique skills to provide excellent service in a team‑oriented environment. We work together to provide exceptional care to adult surgical patients. Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent required Active Nursing Assistant Certification (CNA) in Maryland is required. Entry‑level knowledge of basic clinical skills required to support nursing personnel with patient care activities and related services focused on the needs and comfort of patients. PCT Intern will remain in an intern role for no longer than 1 year. The PCT Intern will advance to the PCT I upon meeting training requirements. BLS CPR certification required: AHA, Red Cross, or Military Training Network accepted.
