This leader will own technical strategy, execution, and team health for Slack, partnering closely with Product, Design, and cross-functional engineering leadership to deliver reliable, scalable, and delightful experiences for millions of users.What You'll DoOwn end-to-end delivery for your engineering org from technical roadmap and architecture decisions to execution and operational excellence.Build, mentor, and scale a team of engineering managers and senior ICs; set a high bar for technical talent and inclusive leadership.Partner with Product and Design leadership to translate business priorities into technical strategy and roadmaps.Drive engineering rigor: code quality, system reliability, security, and scalability across your area.Represent your organization in cross-Slack and cross-Salesforce planning, influencing broader technical direction.Manage budget, headcount planning, and org design for your team.Foster a culture of accountability, psychological safety, and continuous improvement.What We're Looking For10+ years of software engineering experience, including 5+ years in engineering leadership roles managing managers.Proven track record leading large-scale, distributed systems at consumer or enterprise SaaS scale.Strong technical judgment: able to go deep on architecture and design when needed, while empowering teams to own execution.Experience partnering with Product/Design at the executive level to shape roadmap and strategy.Demonstrated success building and scaling high-performing, diverse engineering teams.Excellent communication skills; comfortable operating with ambiguity and driving clarity for others.Why SlackSlack is the productivity platform trusted by millions of teams worldwide, part of the Salesforce family.
