Data Scientist, Level 2

Data Scientist Level 2At Independent Software, as a Data Scientist Level 2, you will analyze complex datasets and develop data-driven solutions supporting mission-critical operations. Depending on the program, you may work with machine learning, artificial intelligence, predictive analytics, data visualization, workflow automation, or other advanced analytical techniques. You will work with engineers, analysts, and stakeholders to identify patterns, develop analytical solutions, and translate complex data into meaningful insights.Key Responsibilities:Analyze mission-specific data in support of financial tracking effortsResearch and identify sources and recipients of illicit fundingAnalyze complex datasets to identify patterns, relationships, trends, and anomaliesConduct independent research to support analytical findingsCorrelate information from multiple data sources to develop meaningful conclusionsApply data science and analytical techniques to complex mission problemsDevelop analytical solutions and methods to improve research and analysisDocument methodologies, findings, and analytical conclusionsCommunicate technical and analytical findings to mission stakeholdersWork independently to research and resolve complex analytical problemsRequired Skills and Qualifications:Experience performing data analysis, data science, or mission-focused analytical workExperience researching and analyzing complex datasetsAbility to identify patterns, relationships, and relevant findings within dataAbility to independently research and investigate complex analytical questionsStrong analytical, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skillsAbility to work independently with minimal directionAbility to clearly document and communicate analytical findingsFinancial tracking methodology (FTM) experience is a plusXKS and/or DX experience with fingerprint authoring is a plusAI implementation experience is a plusEducation and Experience: Candidates must meet one of the following:Bachelor's degree with three (3) years of relevant experience; ORAssociate's degree with five (5) years of relevant experienceDegree should be in Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Applied Statistics, Machine Learning, Data Science, Operations Research, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline. Degrees in Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Physical Sciences, or other scientific disciplines with a strong computational, mathematics, or computer science background may also be considered. Candidates with other degree disciplines may qualify if they have earned a Data Science certificate from an accredited college or university. Relevant experience may include machine learning, data science, advanced analytics, statistical analysis, programming, data management, data mining, data modeling, artificial intelligence, or software engineering.
