Safety Specialist

Job Description

A well-established HVAC and building services contractor is seeking a Branch Safety Specialist to lead its branch safety programme.

The role involves working closely with branch leadership, field teams and customers to develop safety plans, ensure regulatory compliance and drive continuous improvement.

The position includes approximately 20–30% travel to job sites across the assigned territory.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain the branch safety programme in line with corporate requirements.
\n
• Conduct job-site visits, assess risks and work with customers to implement safety plans.
\n
• Develop and maintain safety policies, procedures and safe work practices.
\n
• Deliver safety training and maintain training records.
\n
• Lead incident investigations, root cause analyses and corrective actions.
\n
• Monitor safety metrics, including TRIR, DART, near misses and audit results.
\n
• Oversee fleet safety, driver compliance, collision reviews and telematics.
\n
• Coach operational leaders and promote a strong safety culture.
\n

Qualifications:

\n
• High school diploma required; relevant bachelor's degree preferred.
\n
• 3+ years of safety or field operations experience; HVAC or construction experience preferred.
\n
• OSHA 30-hour certification required.
\n
• CPR/First Aid certification required or obtainable within 90 days.
\n
• CHST, ASP or STSC certification highly preferred.
\n
• Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety standards.
\n
• Excellent communication, training and leadership skills.
\n
• Microsoft Office proficiency; safety management software experience preferred.
\n
• Ability to walk job sites, climb ladders and lift up to 25 lbs.
\n
• Willingness to travel approximately 20–30%.
