Senior Front End Developer

OverviewJob PurposeIntercontinental Exchange (ICE) is seeking a Senior-Front End Developer within the Index Technology team. The ICE Index Technology team is responsible for building software systems that construct, calculate and manage global Index and ETF products. IDI calculates millions of index levels per day, reliably and efficiently. The senior developer will focus on the migration of our Sigma application UI (Java Swing) to React UI technologies. The role will follow established design patterns and architectural principles, and collaborate well with QA, product management and other functional teams to implement high quality solutions to user requirements. The ideal candidate for this position will be a self-directed individual with a passion for excellence and demonstrable experience in building and maintaining diverse business applications containing complex workflows and business rules. The role requires strong knowledge of front-end technologies, good experience with iterative development and SDLC tools, and the ability to work well with others.ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and maintain complex, enterprise-scale GUIs Collaborate with product managers, UX designers, backend engineers, and QA to deliver new features end to end Translate UI/UX designs into high-quality, production-ready implementations Ensure technical feasibility, accessibility, and performance of UI designs Optimize applications for speed, scalability, and responsiveness Integrate front-end components with Java Spring Boot back-end services Participate in and lead code reviews, providing constructive feedback and promoting best practices Troubleshoot and resolve UI performance, stability, and usability issues Stay current with emerging front-end technologies, frameworks, and industry trends Knowledge and ExperienceBachelor’s in computer science or software/computer engineering (or equivalent) required5+ years of professional experience developing graphical user interfaces for production systems Strong proficiency in JavaScript, TypeScript, and React Solid understanding of HTML5, CSS3, and modern web development standards and, or similar) Hands-on experience consuming and integrating RESTful APIs Strong understanding of asynchronous programming patterns Familiarity with Java Spring Boot–based backend integrations Proficiency with Git and modern version control workflows Preferred Knowledge and ExperienceExposure to the financial services technologies domainBackend development experience in Java, or a strong willingness to learn and contribute to backend services #LI-HR1 #LI-ONSITE Intercontinental Exchange, Inc. is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
