You'll provide individualized support based on each person's needs, preferences, and established support plan.Your day-to-day responsibilities may include:Assisting with daily routines and Activities of Daily Living (ADLs)Helping individuals learn practical skills, including cooking, meal planning, cleaning, and maintaining their homesAccompanying individuals to community outings, appointments, and recreational activities as appropriatePromoting independence, personal choice, and self-advocacyHelping individuals work toward goals identified in their individualized support plansFollowing established procedures to maintain individual health, safety, and well-beingEncouraging the development of communication, social, and independent living skillsDeveloping respectful, professional relationships with the individuals you supportProviding assistance while protecting each person's dignity and right to make choicesNo two days are exactly alike. Employment RequirementsApplicants must be able to meet the following requirements:Maintain a valid driver's licenseHave reliable transportationSuccessfully complete all required criminal background clearancesBe able to provide physical assistance to individuals when neededPhysical DemandsDepending on the needs of the individual receiving services, DSPs may assist with standing, walking, transferring, and other mobility-related activities.
