SUMMARY: The Senior Center Director is employed in a full-time position to administer and organized an efficient nutrition program, responsive to the needs of the Omaha Tribe Elders. The Senior Center is responsible for the overall administration of all program activities. ESSENTIAL DUTIES and/or RESPONSIBILITIES:Implement Title VI Program and Tribal Policies and Procedures in consistent with Federal Regulations.Coordinate Meal Services, Supportive Services and Transportation Services to best serve the Omaha Tribe Elders.Prepare and maintain reports for Federal, State, and local agencies as required.Supervise staff and volunteers.To serve as liaison between the Omaha Tribe Elders and The Omaha Tribal Council.Promote good working relationships between the Title VI Program and the community, Omaha Tribal government, Federal agencies, local and state offices on the aging.Provide training for staff and volunteers in order to enhance their understanding of the Title VI Program and other elderly related programs.Work closely with the Tribal Financial Office and the contract office.Provide regularly scheduled staff and Advisory Committee meetings.Recruit volunteers when at all possible, by working with the RSVP Program.Provide opportunities for all to contribute/volunteer to the Title VI Program.Ensure that all meals are serve in a timely manner; and that all meals meet the 1/3 Daily Recommended Dietary Allowances.Ensure that groceries and supplies are ordered on a timely basis and are properly stored.Be prepared to fill in for other staff members should they be called away from their jobs.Be able to prepare meals for a large number of people. QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the duties. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:High school diploma or GED.Experience in office administration. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, and/or REGISTRATIONS:Have a Certificate in food preparation or be able to attend training in food preparation.Must have a valid Nebraska driver's license and insurable under the Tribes insurance KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and/or ABILITIES:Understand the purpose of the Title VI Program.Must be able to understand or speak Omaha Language.Ability to do simple arithmetic with reference to increasing or decreasing ingredients for recipes to calculate specific food servings PLEASE NOTE: P.L. 93-638, Indian Preference and Tribal Employment Rights Ordinance, (TERO), will be practiced, however all qualified applicants will be considered.IF YOU ARE INTERESTED, PLEASE SEND APPLICATIONS RESUME TO:OMAHA TRIBE OF NEBRASKAATTN: HR DEPARTMENTP.O.
