Maintenance and Repair Specialist

Job TitleMonitor and control all aspects of equipment repair within the Kansas City area.Duties and ResponsibilitiesMonitor and control M&R costs for chassisMonitor and control OOS equipment levels to include Repair Estimate Approval and Repair Limit ComplianceRegular communications with logistics department with regards to equipment requirementsUpdate chassis OOS status and notes as needed in M&R SystemConduct daily visits to local Terminals and CY's in the area to ensure that all M&R issues are addressed and that Company Policies are enforced. Provide detailed written reports of any problems to the Chicago M & R ManagerEnsure DCLI inspection/repair standards are communicated to vendors and adhered to on all equipment repairsAssist locations in continuously investigating ways and means to reduce overall M&R costs while ensuring service levels are not compromisedWork with vendors to increase productivityMonitor and control spare parts inventory levels of DCLI owned partsRespond to all correspondence ASAP, no later than one working dayReview work order input in M&R system on a daily basis and transmit work orders dailyAssist in selecting new repair vendors when required within the regionDiscuss and resolve work order input discrepancy with M&R vendorsPerform DCLI monthly safety reviewConduct shop site audits for all responsible locationsMonitor and release any DVER/DVIR inspections that location is notified ofParticipate in Top Ten Trucker Load ProgramVisit one truck line per weekReview M&R system reports as needed; S09, S11, duplicate code and duplicate work order reportsGenerate information for third party billing/damage recovery at all locationsAssist with road service where necessaryTrack and order license plates for chassisVerify, code and approve invoices up to $1,000.00Work with the logistics team to ensure proper inventory levels are kept in locationsMonitor and control inventory levels of DCLI owned tiresCoordinate off hire and scrap chassis programsEnsure accruals are done accurately and in a timely manner each monthQualificationsThree years of experience in maintenance and repairAbility to learn chassis/trailer repair. Prior knowledge of chassis or trailer repair is a plusAbility to effectively communicate company policy and proceduresAbility to identify problems and seek solutionsAbility to work independently and efficiently to meet daily requirementsInterface credibly with vendors and terminal personnelAbility to work with internal and external customersAbility to travel 60% - 80% of weekly travelMust be able to pass a pre-employment drug screeningDirect ReportsN/ABenefitsWe understand that your role at DCLI is only part of who you are.
