Starting Pay: $22.00 - $24.00/hr

Location: Clackamas, OR

Schedule: Full-Time Hours, Monday - Friday, Day Shifts

Position Description:

This ideal Shop Helper candidate will be able to work independently and may lead jobs. This person may specialize and excel in one area of maintenance, but will also have a well-rounded understanding of facility and equipment maintenance in other areas. The person will take initiative to look past the task at hand and find potential or contributing issues in equipment or facility operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Observing all company safety rules and policies including LOTO, confined space, PPE, etc.
• Testing and evaluating machinery and equipment to diagnose causes of malfunction
• Repairing, replacing, adjusting, and aligning components of machinery and equipment
• Perform daily preventative maintenance on slingers and overhead cranes; adjusting crane brakes
• Examine parts for defects, such as breakage or excessive wear
• Weld broken metal parts, fabricate new parts, and assemble new equipment
• Record repairs and maintenance performed
• Rigging and overhead crane operation, lifting device use and inspection and load calculations
• Willing to take classes provided by the company to improve your skills as needed or requested
• Other duties may be assigned

Requirements:

• Reliability and Punctuality is a must
• Lifting : The ability to lift, carry, or move objects of different weights 
• Climbing : The ability to climb stairs, ladders, or scaffolds 
• Working in confined spaces : The ability to work in small spaces
• Hearing : The ability to hear, understand, and distinguish speech and other sounds 
• Responding to sounds : The ability to respond quickly to sounds 
• Working in different environments : The ability to work in hot or cold environments, on concrete floors, or in proximity to loud equipment 
• Wearing personal protective gear : The ability to wear personal protective gear for most of the day

Preferred Qualifications:

• Ability to read and/or interpret mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic blueprints or schematics
• Understanding of overhead crane troubleshooting and repair
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
