Supervises day‑to‑day production, scheduling, staffing, material management, compliance, training and auditing activities; identifies and prioritizes resources as appropriate. Interviews, hires, coaches, motivates, develops, recognizes and leads performance of direct reports; provides regular feedback; assists in setting performance objectives and development plans. Reviews, approves, and handles documentation for batch and system records; assists in release of product for distribution; meets product release time goals. Identifies, initiates and facilitates continuous improvements, lean manufacturing activities and initiatives (5S, visual management, kaizens) and may implement VIPs. Ensures resources and raw materials are used efficiently. Develops training content and facilitates and verifies training for employees in the area. Ensures compliance with all GMP rules, product documentation, specifications, SOPs and FDA requirements. Performs/ leads technical reviews, investigations and process improvement projects. Provides manufacturing input into integration and validation of new equipment and processes. Resolves technical, material and cGMP problems that may impact project deadlines; provides guidance and troubleshooting assistance during process deviations. May represent the company during FDA inspections. May monitor capital expenditures and assist in developing budgets. Submits and/or maintains and distributes attendance, labor, maintenance, safety and other reports. Sustains a clean and safe work area using 6S principles. Learns, understands and applies rigorous quality standards, SOPs and cGMP. What you'll bring Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, related field or equivalent is required. 3 years manufacturing experience and 2 years supervisory experience. No allergy to Penicillin, Cephalosporin or related products. Demonstrated communication, administrative and strong technical leadership skills with ability to interface well with other departments. Ability to lead multiple priorities in a manufacturing plant setting. Good assessment and troubleshooting skills (mechanical, electrical, process). Proven understanding of maintenance systems including preventive maintenance and CMMS. Knowledge of regulatory and safety guidelines for the medical/pharmaceutical industry; experience with Lockout/Tagout and other safety programs. Ability to interact with all levels of personnel and solve equipment, quality, engineering, and personnel problems. Knowledge of WCM methods (Lean, Six Sigma, QLP). Ability to respond to detailed inquiries and present information to groups and management. Good project management skills and ability to organize many projects and priorities. Understanding of verbal and written safety and quality instructions and ability to read written instructions including words and drawings. Basic English written and oral communication skills adequate for team communication. We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career. Baxter is committed to equitable pay for all employees and is transparent with pay practices. The estimated base salary for this position is $80,000 – $110,000 annually. The range may be adjusted based on market data and other factors. Individual pay is based on location, skills, expertise, experience, and relevant factors.
