Job Title: OB Hospitalist Profession: Physician Specialty: Hospitalist - OB Duration: Permanent, Full-time Shift: 24-hour in-house shifts on a rotating schedule Hours per Shift: 24 hours Experience: Board Certified/Board Eligible in OB/GYN License: Active California license (or in process) Certifications: Board Certified, Board Eligible Must-Have: - Truly Board Eligible (within 5 years of residency) or Board Certified in OB/GYN - Clean malpractice and license history (highly preferred) - Most recent NPDB Self Query Report (within 30 days active) - DEA (must be obtained prior to start) Description: The OB Hospitalist will provide 24-hour in-house coverage within a high-acuity setting. Responsibilities include managing obstetric triage for unassigned patients and private physician requests. The physician will respond to and manage maternal-fetal medicine (MFM) patient transports, assisting in cesarean sections as needed. Inpatient rounding, including postpartum patients, is a key component of the role. The OB Hospitalist will participate in shared rounding of antepartum patients alongside specialists. The physician will also conduct gynecologic emergency department evaluations for unassigned patients. Coordination of care is crucial within a high-acuity obstetric environment, supported by dedicated anesthesiology, neonatal, and pediatric coverage. The role involves delivering comprehensive obstetric hospitalist care in a multidisciplinary hospital setting.
