Accounting ManagerGenesis10 is currently seeking an Accounting Manager for a 3+ month contract opportunity with a Global Manufacturing Company located in Buffalo Grove, IL. This position is fully onsite. Compensation: $55.00 - $65.00 per hour, W2, based on qualifications.Position Overview: The Accounting Manager reports to the Company Controller and is responsible for managing the general accounting function. This role oversees the completion of ledger accounts and financial statements, supervises A/R and A/P, and evaluates and makes appropriate improvements to internal accounting processes to ensure that practices are in line with the overall goals of the organization.Key Responsibilities:Responsible for General Accounting function and the supervision and mentoring of A/R, Billing and A/PResponsible for maintaining accounting sub-ledgers and preparing monthly account reconciliationsDirect the maintenance of general and subsidiary ledgers, accounts receivable/payable, revenue recognition/distribution, and fixed asset and depreciation, recordsWork with both divisional and corporate accounting department personnel to ensure accounting transactions, JVs, and records are prepared timely and accurately in accordance with GAAPSupervise and participate in the month-end close process and preparation of various financial reports, financial statements, and corporate reporting packagesPrepare account reconciliations and research discrepanciesPerform analytical reviews of financial reports and KPIs to identify trends and develop appropriate responses as requiredParticipate in the preparation of the annual financial and strategic plan, and in monthly P&L and working capital forecastsAssist in the development and implementation of goals, policies, priorities, procedures and work instructions relating to financial management, accounting, payroll and budgeting within a manufacturing environmentEnsure accounting procedures are documented and up to dateConsult on the effectiveness and efficiency of accounting process flowImplement process and automation improvements to reduce reconciliation effortsEstablish system controls and adhere to SOX requirements, including compliance testing of key control areasSupport internal and external audits involving review of accounting records and internal controls, including SOXCoordinate preparation of external audit schedules and internal financial reportingProvide support to internal customers as needs arise, including ad-hoc financial analysis, and special projectsPrimary Requirements:Bachelor's Degree (B.S.) or equivalent with four to ten years related experience in a highly diverse manufacturing environmentThorough understanding of GAAP and standard cost systemsMinimum of four years supervisory role in a lean accounting department, preferable of A/R and A/P functionsExperience with fully integrated ERP systems - Oracle R12 (or similar software), including Essbase and Hyperion Financial Management reporting systemsStrong Microsoft Office computer skills – Advanced Excel (Pivot tables, Power Pivot, Power Query, VLOOKUP, Macros, etc), Word, Outlook, PowerPointAbility to prepare well-constructed spreadsheets demonstrating a high degree of financial acumen and visual appealExperience in a lean manufacturing environment; participation on kaizens and value stream mapping exercisesExperience with Lean Accounting methodologiesA sense of urgency with the ability to meet communicated schedules and deadlinesStrong analytical, accounting research and problem solving skills requiredHighly detail oriented and organizedDemonstrated initiative and ability to work independently with minimal daily direction from managementExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsDemonstrated ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and interface with all levels of managementDesired Skills:CPA, MBA preferredAnalytical - Synthesizes complex or diverse information; Collects and researches dataProblem Solving - Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner; Gathers and analyzes information skillfullyProject Management - Coordinates projects; Completes projects on time and budgetBusiness Acumen - Understands business implications of decisionsInitiative - Seeks increased responsibilities; Takes independent actions and calculated risksInnovation - Displays original thinking and creativity; Meets challenges with resourcefulnessJudgment - Displays willingness to make decisions; Exhibits sound and accurate judgmentPlanning/Organizing - Prioritizes and plans work activities; Uses time efficientlyOnly candidates available and ready to work directly as Genesis10 employees will be considered for this position.If you have the described qualifications and are interested in this exciting opportunity, please apply!
