HVAC Mechanic I

Responsibilities Responsible for troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair on all makes of generators Diagnose, repair, adjust, andmodifyall components of the generator,engineand switch gear Repair, service andmaintainall makes and models of standby generators. Conduct start-ups, preventative maintenance,serviceand load bank tests. Repair, service andmaintainall makes and models of standby generators. Maintain and repair automatic transfer switches * Work on a variety of commercial / industrial customer sites Troubleshoot generator components including alternators, wiring harnesses, safety devices, shutdown switches, and battery systems. Work on common standby generator brands such as Cummins, Kohler, Generac,Briggsand Stratton. Perform administrative duties as related to role (meeting all TJC requirements) Meet requirements for certifications 1 - 3 years EPG/ Electronics and/or Diesel Engine Repair experience or technical degree a plus Positive interface with service writers,foreman, partsdepartmentand customers A valid driver’s license isrequired Must be willing to work alternate shifts asrequiredto support the mission Education, Experience and Certification: Required: High School Diploma or equivalent. Required: 3 years of Generator Technician experience Preferred: 5 years of Generator Technician experience Required: NAC/LAC Certification. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Must be able to lift 50 lbs., squat, bend, stoop and kneel for short periods, climb a ladder, stand for long periods of time, constant arm extensions. Occasional exposure to elements such as heat, cold, noise, dust, dirt, chemicals, etc., but not to the point of being disagreeable.
