A SIRT I works under the direct supervision of various Surgical Instrument Repair Technicians and/or Site Leaders who will train the SIRT I in the proper methods of inspection and repair of multiple types and patterns of handheld surgical instruments and ancillary devices. Once sufficiently trained and validated on competencies, the technician will be expected to accomplish multiple assigned tasks and goals. The individual demonstrates adherence to the TRIMEDX core values in all professional interactions by showing respect to all people, creating real value, initiating meaningful change, and exhibiting integrity.ResponsibilitiesTechnical Service - 40%Learn to perform routine preventive maintenance, inspection and repair on surgical instrumentationRequired to be familiar with other specialized tooling positioning devices and jigs used in all surgical specialties.Learn, understand, and follow all repair and sharpening standards related to surgical instruments (ANSI Standards)Coordinate the activities of subcontractors, vendors, and outside service technicians to ensure proper service deliveryTravel between TRIMEDX customer sites, hospital affiliates, and institutions for services is requiredRegulatory Compliance - 25%Maintain records of all work activities in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)Learn, understand, and implement specific regulatory requirements related to the instrument repair tradeEnsure the accuracy and integrity of the equipment database to include the inventory, preventative maintenance and quality assurance of instruments, nomenclature, and service historyAdhere to the Medical Equipment Management Plan (MEMP), including all regulatory agency compliances and other applicable policies and proceduresResponsible for ensuring all service and documentation is complete, timely, and accurateAccount Relationship Management - 25%Build and maintain customer relationshipsDiscuss instrument status and functionality with hospital staffMaintain schedule with facility department(s) to pull trays needing to be serviced, coordinate work completion, and other related tasksMaintain accurate surgical instrument tracking software as requiredAdhere to the Mission, Vision, and Values of the organization(s) servedServe as an ambassador for TRIMEDX by integrating the core values into job performanceInventory Management - 10%Maintain an accurate count and type of instruments serviced in trays in Computer Maintenance Management System (CMMS)Ensure all original instruments are returned serviced or tagged for replacement, in their original trayAll other duties as assigned.Skills and ExperienceOne-year prior experience working in a customer facing environment or an internshipGood dexterity and hand eye coordinationPotential to develop proficiency in application of small parts necessary for specialized repairsExcellent interpersonal and customer service skillsBasic computer skills as required to operate a Computerized Maintenance Management System and common office software, including, but not limited to, MS OfficeValid driver's license required; variable travel requirements depending on primary site that may require use of personal vehicleEducation and QualificationsHigh school diploma / GEDAt Trimedx, we are committed to cultivating a workplace culture where every associate feels valued, supported, and empowered to thrive.
