Find your future with us.This role focuses on supporting the Enterprise Software Verticals (ESV) organization and requires an accomplished Senior Platform Engineering Leader to architect, build, and optimize scalable, reliable, and secure infrastructure for the Boeing Software Factory (BSF). The position provides technical leadership, fosters engineering excellence, and drives innovation across our cloud ecosystem and platform capabilities. It is a virtual opportunity; relocation is not required.Position ResponsibilitiesServe as the primary execution leader for the BSF Cloud Ecosystem Roadmap, ensuring alignment with business and technology strategiesLead the design and implementation of cloud-native, scalable, resilient, and secure software platformsMentor and guide engineering teams, establishing technical standards, promoting design excellence, and driving consensus on complex technical challengesChampion best practices in automation, CI/CD pipelines, observability, and DevOps to improve velocity, quality, and system reliabilityShape the long-term technology vision— influencing platform strategy, architecture decisions, and adoption of emerging technologiesPartner with architects, software engineers, information technologists, and management to deliver platform capabilities that meet business and compliance requirementsEnsure platforms are highly performant, cost-efficient, and continuously optimized for reliability, scalability, and securityBasic Qualifications (Required)10+ years of experience in large-scale software and system architecture, including distributed systems and cloud-native design10+ years of experience mentoring and leading technical teams while fostering a culture of excellence and innovation7+ years of hands-on experience leading cross-organizational collaboration to obtain certifications in enterprise information governance, cybersecurity, and regulatory compliance5+ years of experience with major cloud providers such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, including infrastructure as code, Zero-trust architecture, Configuration as Code and cloud security best practicesPreferred Qualifications (Desired)Bachelor of Science degree in engineering, engineering technology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer scienceStrong programming and software design background with the ability to strategize, review, design, and deliver robust toolsHands-on experience with CI/CD tools, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and automation frameworksKnowledge of customer/supplier organization, processes, policies, and procedures, products, requirements, capabilities, practices, support resources, preferences, constraints, etc.Ability to understand the big picture and inter-relationships of all positions and activities in the system, including the impact of changes in one area on another area, and apply systems thinking to accelerate performanceKnowledge of software architecture and design methodologies and ability to synthesize software architectures and designs that meet requirements, characteristics and constraintsDrugFree Workplace: Boeing is a Drug Free Workplace (DFW); post-offer applicants and employees may be subject to drug testing as outlined in our policies.Travel: Occasional travel may be required (less than 10%).Pay & Benefits: Summary pay range for Senior Level (Level5): $158,100–$246,100.
