Surgical Technician

Position Summary District Surgery Center is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Surgical Technologist to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide direct support to the surgical team during outpatient procedures, ensuring a sterile environment, efficient workflow, and patient safety. Key Responsibilities Prepare and maintain the sterile field for surgeries, ensuring all instruments, equipment, and supplies are ready for use. Assist surgeons and other surgical team members during procedures by passing instruments, sponges, and sutures. Operate and monitor surgical equipment, ensuring it is functioning properly and sterilized. Handle surgical specimens according to facility protocols. Maintain a clean and organized operating room before, during, and after procedures. Participate in patient positioning, draping, and maintaining sterile techniques. Monitor and track surgical instruments to ensure none are left behind in the patient’s body. Assist with patient transport to and from the operating room. Document patient care activities accurately and timely, ensuring compliance with all healthcare regulations. Assist in the preparation of patients and their families for procedures, explaining the process and addressing any questions or concerns. Work closely with other healthcare professionals to ensure a smooth workflow, ensuring patient safety at all times. Adhere to infection control practices and safety standards in accordance with healthcare protocols. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent; graduation from an accredited Surgical Technology program (preferred). Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) preferred. Current CPR certification (BLS) required. 1+ year of surgical technologist experience in an outpatient or hospital setting preferred. Knowledge of medical terminology, instruments, and surgical procedures. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain focus and professionalism under pressure.
