An industrial general contractor providing mechanical, rigging, electrical, equipment installation, plant relocation, utility installation, and manufacturing facility construction services nationwide. The company supports large-scale industrial projects, including battery and advanced manufacturing facilities.


Position Summary


The Area Supervisor supports an Area Manager in overseeing field construction activities for a major manufacturing facility installation project. The role coordinates subcontractors, employees, suppliers, and other project stakeholders to help ensure work is completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to required quality standards.


Key Responsibilities

• Support preconstruction planning, scheduling, budgeting, estimates, cost controls, permits, site setup, and subcontractor/vendor mobilization.
• Review project specifications, contracts, materials, testing, inspections, and subcontract work for compliance and quality.
• Direct and coordinate field personnel and subcontractors.
• Communicate expectations regarding schedules, construction methods, safety, permits, quality, and performance.
• Attend project progress meetings and coordinate upcoming work.
• Conduct safety walkthroughs and support OSHA-compliant site operations.
• Review progress, cost, and completion reports.
• Support project closeout, resource demobilization, and customer transition.
• Build relationships with customers, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers.
• Bridge communication between U.S. stakeholders and Japanese equipment manufacturers.

Qualifications


Required:

• Minimum 5 years of industrial and/or construction experience.
• Professional Japanese proficiency required for project communication.
• Knowledge of field construction practices and construction contract terms.
• Working knowledge of OSHA safety standards.
• Ability to organize personnel, tools, equipment, and multiple concurrent activities.
• Strong decision-making, attention to detail, problem-solving, and reporting skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, email, and standard business communication tools.

Preferred:

• Associate degree or higher in Construction Management, construction/manufacturing engineering, or related field; equivalent education and experience considered.
• Industrial construction and/or mechanical installation experience.

Other Details

• PPE is required as applicable for field and weather conditions.
• Must be available for extended hours, weekends, and possible holidays based on project needs.
• Future assignments may require relocation to other project locations.
