About the Position

Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse / Neuro Med-Surg Telemetry – Maryland

Start Date: November 9, 2026

Location: Baltimore, Maryland

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: 3x12-hour night shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM. Every other weekend and holiday required. Patient ratio 1:5. May float to Med-Surg and Med-Surg/Telemetry units within scope based on hospital needs.

Highlights:

• 36-bed Neuro Med-Surg/Telemetry unit at a Certified Stroke Center and Level IV Epilepsy Monitoring Unit
• Work with a diverse patient population including CVA, ischemic stroke, epilepsy, seizures, post-neurosurgery, and telemetry overflow patients
• Utilize advanced monitoring including continuous bedside EEG, telemetry, and bladder scanning
• Teaching hospital environment with Level I or Level II trauma experience preferred
• Charting system: Cerner
• Local candidates accepted; first-time travelers welcome

Requirements:

• Maryland or Compact RN license required upon submission
• Minimum 2 years of Med-Surg/Telemetry experience required
• Neurology experience required; CVA/acute stroke care and pre/post-neurosurgery experience required
• Spinal cord injury and traumatic brain injury experience required
• Experience with feeding-tube care, pre/post-hemodialysis care, renal failure, surgical drains, wound care/wound VAC, oxygen administration, and isolation/PPE required
• Certifications required: ACLS, BLS, NIH Stroke Scale, Maryland-approved trauma education (16 hours by week 27)
• Basic EKG testing through Prophecy Relias required and must be completed before orientation
• Annual continuing education: 8 hours stroke CEs and 4 hours trauma-related CEs
• TCRN preferred; previous charge experience preferred
• Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only)
