Job Description:

Experienced RN in the OR is required to provide comprehensive preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative care, supervising a CST aspiring for OR certification. The role involves a rotation of after-hours call duties split between two nurses.

Responsibilities:

• Preoperative Nursing: Prepare patients for surgery with preop history and physical assessment, assess vital signs, start IVs, and administer any preoperative medications as ordered.
• Postoperative Nursing: Monitor patients' vital signs and level of sedation, and provide treatment for PONV, pain, and unstable vital signs as needed, with assistance available from anesthesia and the surgeon.
• Circulating: Assist the surgeon during surgeries, including general, orthopedic, cataract surgeries, C-sections, and traumas.
• Charting: Familiarity with Cerner is required.

Requirements:

• Experience required in pre-op, intra-op, and post-op. Scrub experience preferred, but not required; supervision of CST necessary.
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS for the OR.
