We have an opening for a School Nurse at the parochial school in the district for the upcoming 2026-2027 school year.Position: School NurseSchool: Corpus Christi Catholic SchoolReports To: Building Principal, Director of Special Services, and Nurse SupervisorStart Date: August 2026Compensation: $54,309-$67,630 (Full-Time annual)Work Schedule: 7:15am-2:45pm (Monday Friday) (188 days)Application Date: Position will remain open until filledDuties & Responsibilities:Serve as a member of the school team as the designated health professionalMaintain accurate, comprehensive, well-organized records, logs, surveys, and reports in keeping with requirements of the State of Connecticut, and policies of the Wethersfield Board of EducationConfer with parents, students, teachers, support staff and other professionals to interpret health and developmental assessmentsMonitor students with special needs for the purpose of maintaining them in the school settingSupervise compliance with Connecticut State mandated physical examinations and immunization requirementsCoordinate the administration of prescribed medications and treatments for students in school and/or school sponsored activitiesResponsible for training designated staff in medication administration, health records, and other health related issuesProvide health care treatment and/or emergency services to injured or ill students and staffAssist families as necessary in obtaining a medical home, HUSKY state health insurance, needed immunizations, dental care or other health related needsAttend staff meetings as scheduled and perform other nursing duties or professional tasks as requiredPerform other nursing duties and professional responsibilities consistent with the position and the mission of Corpus Christi Catholic SchoolCandidates must be able to demonstrate the following key characteristics on the job:Ability to diagnose and provide appropriate health care servicesEnthusiasm for helping childrenRespectful attitude in working with students, families and staffAbility to work cooperatively with others and maintain confidentialityQualifications:Valid RN license from the CT State Department of HealthMinimum of BS degree in NursingTwo or more years of nursing experience (prefer at least one year dealing with children)Valid CPR certificationAll applicants must apply on-line.Wethersfield Public School System-Nondiscrimination PolicyThe Wethersfield Public Schools is committed to a policy of equal opportunity/affirmative action for all qualified persons.
