Lifeguard

Lifeguard Position

Monitor and supervise the pool facilities, enforcing policies and procedures. Essential job functions include monitoring and enforcing pool rules and policies, keeping the facility clean and organized, knowing the facility's emergency action plan, performing life-saving duties when needed, answering patrons' questions, assisting with opening and closing the facility, attending all scheduled meetings, maintaining physical fitness, responding to medical emergencies, providing customer service, and assisting with the general maintenance and cleanliness of the pool, pool area, and locker rooms.

Equipment used for this position includes standard office equipment such as personal computers, printers, copiers, fax machines, calculators, and telephones.

Travel requirements include travel to school district buildings and professional meetings as required. Pay rates are $14.00 an hour.

Knowledge, skills, and abilities include good oral and written communication skills, quality people skills, knowledge of the school's pool rules and policies, the ability to adapt to emergency situations, the ability to swim, and various physical and mental demands.
