Insight Global is seeking a Test Technician for a leading construction equipment manufacturer focused on cutting‑edge prototype development. This candidate will play a critical role in both the build and validation of mobile equipment, working hands‑on with machines and advanced testing systems. The role spans mechanical work, instrumentation setup, and technical reporting, making it ideal for someone who enjoys diagnosing problems, working with their hands, and translating data into actionable insights. Candidates will work on highly specialized prototype equipment, gaining exposure to complex systems and real‑world engineering validation processes. Must‑Haves Hands‑on experience working with or testing mobile/off‑highway equipment Strong understanding of full-system mechanics: Engines (operational knowledge vs teardown) Electronics/software integration Experience working in hands‑on, non‑climate‑controlled (“dirty”) environments Mechanical aptitude with ability to build, tear down, and troubleshoot equipment Ability to independently execute testing and diagnose system issues Comfortable performing instrumentation setup and data collection (manual + digital) Willing to provide basic hand tools (wrenches/sockets up to 1”/25mm, screwdrivers) Strong troubleshooting mindset (ability to logically diagnose failures and test issues) Plusses Experience with SOMAC EDAX, Siemens, or other data acquisition tools Background with construction or agricultural equipment (telehandlers, excavators, tractors) Experience with prototype builds and validation testing Exposure to instrumentation setup (strain gauges, pressure transducers, thermocouples, flow meters) Strong technical reporting skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Experience analyzing large datasets and compiling defensible test reports (legal-quality data) Prior experience in both mechanical work AND structured testing environments Day‑to‑Day Build, modify, and tear down prototype construction equipment (primarily telehandlers) Execute performance and validation testing (engine, hydraulic, cooling, structural) Install and configure instrumentation systems Collect and analyze test data using acquisition software and custom setups Perform troubleshooting on systems to identify mechanical or performance issues Conduct a wide range of tests: Simple function tests (e.g., boom speed using stopwatch) Advanced multi-sensor instrumentation (100+ channels of data) Write detailed technical reports and summaries (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Collaborate with engineers during build phases, then operate independently during testing Support certification‑related testing and validation requirements #J-18808-Ljbffr
