Contract | Night Shift | Full-Time | Onsite | 12-Hour Shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) | 30-Minute Unpaid Lunch | Self-Scheduling (4-Week Blocks) | 2 Weekends Required Per 4-Week Schedule

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a combined Surgical/Neuro Telemetry unit serving a diverse patient population including respiratory, GI, diabetic, TIA, CVA, and general orthopedic and spinal surgical patients
• Interpret and sign telemetry strips at least once per shift; telemetry is monitored remotely with monitor techs posting strips
• Administer and manage set-rate drips including Diltiazem; titration of drips is not required
• Operate and monitor respiratory equipment including BiPAP, CPAP, high-flow oxygen, and administer breathing treatments as needed
• Collaborate with charge nurses, house supervisors, and nurse aides (ratio 1:10–15) to ensure safe, efficient patient care
• Float to alternate campus locations or PCU (if qualified) as needed based on unit staffing requirements

Required Qualifications

• Active RN licensure in good standing
• Current BLS certification
• Current ACLS certification
• Ability to read and interpret basic telemetry strips
• Experience with general and orthopedic surgical patients as well as CVA and TIA patient populations

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with Cerner EMR strongly recommended due to limited unit orientation (1 shift)
• Prior experience in a combined surgical and telemetry unit environment
• Familiarity with BiPAP, CPAP, and high-flow oxygen equipment
