Key Responsibilities of an Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) (RN): Help train, teach, and monitor nurses. Manage clinical operations and develop care plans. Ensure nursing staff follows departmental procedures and policies. Assist in budget preparation and expense management. Conduct patient rounds and address complaints. Evaluate the performance of the department and recommend improvements. Ensure compliance with state, federal, and local standards. Keep patient and employee records updated and accurate. Report directly to the Director of Nursing.
