JOB SUMMARY:
This position is with the Florida Department of Revenue, Property Tax Oversight Program. This program provides oversight to the 67 elected property appraisers throughout the state of Florida. This work entails appraising real property to determine its fair market value for assessment purposes in accordance with prescribed guidelines. This position is the Revenue Service Center Manager in Tallahassee. This manager is responsible for planning and managing the major operations of the office. Examples include overseeing the process of screening and hiring employees. Training, holding staff meetings on a regular basis and assigning workloads to all employees. The position is responsible for supervising the implementation of department rules and policies. It also includes completing annual performance and interim evaluations to enhance the quality of work.MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Currently employed with the Florida Department of Revenue. At least two (2) years of experience of leadership or management experience in leading groups or teams in a professional field. Professional experience appraising commercial real estate experience in property tax. Experience in planning, organizing, and coordinating work assignments.SUBSTITUTIONS:
College degree or professional appraisal experience that can substitute on a year for year basis.PREFERENCES:
A professional real estate appraisal designation. Extensive professional experience in commercial real estate. Preference will be given to those that have completed appraisals in the In-Depth Study.SPECIAL NOTES:
This Select Exempt Service (SES) position is the Revenue Service Center Manager 1 (RSCM1) in Ft Myers. Telework is not eligible until after training and then it will be limited.
