About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1 year of dedicated CVICU experience required License: Any active state RN license or compact license accepted Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS required Must-Have: Experience with Impella post-cardiac surgery, pulmonary artery line monitoring, thermodilution PA cath monitoring, and pre/post cardiac cath/intervention Candidates must pass an online EKG tele competency assessment before starting the assignment Experience with A-lines, vents, drips, sheaths, dialysis, and drawing ABGs required Targeted patient ratios are 1:2 Candidates must be available to work every other weekend and holiday Description: These positions require experience with post-cardiac surgery, both directly from the OR and not directly from the OR. Additionally, experience with pre/post cardiac catheterizations/interventions is essential. Monitoring of pulmonary artery lines and Swan Ganz is also required. Candidates should be familiar with thermodilution PA catheter monitoring. It is preferred that candidates have experience in a Level 1 trauma setting. Travel experience is preferred and is welcomed for first-time travelers. Floating may occur, and candidates must be comfortable with this. Unit typically operates with a patient ratio of 1:2 in a 36-bed unit. Staffing adjustments may be made for low census periods. Submission details and references are not needed. Candidates must be comfortable floating based on the job description without restrictions or special requests. Any previous staff employee not extended due to tenure must wait 6 months before applying as a traveler. Individuals should disclose any past employment with the facility, including unit names and dates of employment.
