ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Assists facilities manager in the general landscaping for Sabino Recovery property. Maintains grounds using all types of grounds-keeping equipment and tools. Sweeps, rakes, and cleans grounds. Prepares and grades terrain as needed; seeds and/or sods lawns; and transplants and plants shrubs, plants, and trees. Applies pesticides and fertilizers according to established standards. Mows and trims lawns, repairs established lawns, and plants new lawns. Maintains driveways and parking lots. Connects and maintains sprinkler equipment; waters lawn, flowerbeds, gardens, shrubs, and trees; installs new equipment and systems; repairs and maintains current irrigation equipment and systems as needed; and performs minor plumbing repairs. Assists maintenance mechanics in the servicing and repairs of machinery and mechanical equipment. Keeps drainage ditches and culverts free of obstructions; picks up trash and litter; removes trash bags from containers and replaces bags. Ensures compliance with established standards for appearance, repairs, and condition for facility. ADDITIONAL JOB FUNCTIONS: May drive a golf cart on facility property. Makes facilities manager aware of any damages or necessary repairs that need attention. Requirements High school diploma or equivalent GED required. Two (2) years of landscaping experience preferred.
