Senior Accountant

Senior Accountant Our client in St. Louis, MO is seeking a Senior Accountant to support core accounting operations including month-end close, journal entries, account reconciliations, reporting, and financial analysis. This role requires a strong working knowledge of GAAP , internal controls, and general accounting compliance. The Senior Accountant will use sound judgment, take ownership of results, and contribute to continuous process improvement. Key Responsibilities Deliver high-quality internal and external customer service aligned with company values Compile, analyze, and interpret financial data to support historical results and forward-looking insights Prepare fixed asset activity, including additions, disposals, and transfers Complete balance sheet reconciliations , researching and resolving variances in a timely manner Prepare and post journal entries and support the month-end close in accordance with GAAP and internal controls Assist with monthly reporting and analysis provided to senior leadership Verify supporting documentation for accuracy, completeness, and compliance Investigate accounting issues/discrepancies and partner with stakeholders to resolve them Identify and implement process improvements to drive efficiency and accuracyUtilize Excel and other software tools (spreadsheets/databases/reporting tools) to organize and present financial data Monitor work to ensure deadlines are met and impacted parties are informed of relevant updates Identify cost‑saving opportunities and communicate recommendations to leadership Perform other duties as assigned Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting 5+ years of general accounting experience Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize by deadline and business impact Comfortable managing multiple projects simultaneously in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across teams Advanced proficiency with MS Office , specifically Excel , and Windows‑based applications Please respond with your updated resume to View email address on click.appcast.io #J-18808-Ljbffr Staffmark
