Job Details Job Location: Douglasville, GA 30135 Position Type: Full Time Salary: $14.00 - $16.50 Hourly Job Shift: AM Shift Job Title: Cook Reports To: Food and Beverage Manager Summary The Cook will be responsible for using high-quality ingredients to prepare delicious meals for our residents. The ideal candidate is experienced, creative, and committed to creating an excellent food experience for residents. Responsibilities and Duties Cook or otherwise prepare high-quality, nutritious meals with excellent food presentation according to recipes and/or menu Set up the kitchen with necessary tools and equipment Prepare food and present it in an appealing manner Maintain appropriate levels of inventory and restock when necessary Follow all food safety regulations Participate in daily kitchen opening and closing procedures Prepare food items on Community’s daily menu for Residents within scheduled time frame Keep food service areas clean in compliance with local and state regulations Demonstrate knowledge of kitchen equipment including ovens, slicers, mixers, steam tables, steamers, toasters, coffee pots, refrigerators, and freezers Assure that Resident diets are being followed while on shift Report to supervisor any loss, breakage, or waste of supplies and equipment Observe and communicate to supervisor any problems or potential problems in the dietary department This job description represents an overview of the responsibilities for the above referenced position. Qualifications Education and Experience High School Diploma or GED required Serv Safe Certification may be required Two (2) years of related experience in the restaurant industry preferred Knowledge and Skills Ability to work with little or no supervision Knowledge of cooking times and temperatures essential in accordance with state guidelines Ability to cook large quantities of food and deliver a superior product Ability to guide and instruct others in food preparation and food serving Ability to maintain professional demeanor under stress Express compassion for residents, associates, and guests on a consistent basis Willingness to work flexible hours Demonstrates good judgment, problem solving, and decision‑making skills #J-18808-Ljbffr
