Our Pharmacy Managers play a critical role in cultivating a culture of excellence in their respective pharmacy by acting as a role model for all, demonstrating genuine care, and setting the bar for their pharmacy team. Lead and develop a pharmacy team that provides exceptional patient care by promoting best practices and leading through change while identifying and addressing performance opportunities. Responsibilities Pharmacy Managers support novel program awareness, onboard newly hired pharmacy team members, and recognize colleagues for their success. They consistently exhibit best practices when working the bench, including quarterbacking the team, providing patients with meaningful counseling, and abiding by all legal and regulatory guidelines. Responsibilities include: Managing and improving patient health through safe and appropriate dispensing, counseling, and immunizing practices. Overseeing the pharmacy team during bench shifts, strengthening performance through effective coaching and consistent follow‑up. Ensuring safe and accurate prescription fulfillment by directing pharmacy workflow procedures and using safety guardrails. Contributing to positive patient experiences through empathy and genuine care, coaching the team to do the same. Proactively offering and delivering immunizations, and supporting Pharmacy Technicians to learn to immunize. Managing pharmacy inventory, protecting cold chain products, and coaching the team on inventory best practices. Conducting new Technician and Pharmacist onboarding, ensuring trainees complete required training and licensure on time. Ensuring pharmacy operations comply with state Board of Pharmacy regulations and escalating issues to the Rx DL as needed. Partnering with the Store Manager to maintain a healthy talent pipeline of cross‑trained colleagues and ensuring training for licensure. Overseeing performance of Staff Pharmacists and District Support Pharmacists (when applicable), delivering annual performance reviews and closing gaps. Remaining flexible for scheduling, writing or delegating pharmacy schedule creation, and reviewing business reporting for operational insights. Establishing a culture of safety, empowerment, and inclusion, building psychological safety and encouraging feedback. Maintaining clinical and technical skills through required trainings and continuous learning. Providing pharmacist‑delivered clinical care such as testing and prescribing services (e.g., COVID/Flu, Hormonal Contraception) where permissible. Complying with all relevant federal and state laws, regulations, professional standards, and CVS Health policies to protect patient safety and privacy. Required Qualifications Active Pharmacist License in the state where the Store is located. Active National Provider Identifier (NPI). Not on the DEA Excluded Parties list. 1–2 years of experience as a Pharmacist. Essential Functions Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends. Ability to complete required training within designated timeframe. Attention and Focus: concentrate on a task, pivot quickly between tasks, confirm prescription information and label accuracy. Customer Service and Team Orientation: actively help people in a friendly manner, notice and respond to patients’ reactions. Communication Skills: use verbal and written communication effectively, listen actively, ask questions, and avoid interruptions. Mathematical Reasoning: calculate dosage quantities and pharmacy metrics accurately. Problem Resolution: identify challenging interactions and choose appropriate actions. Physical Demands: mobile, lift up to 20 lbs., stand and move for extended periods, reach overhead, use fingers repetitively, and have good visual acuity. Team Management and Leadership Lead by example, set a positive tone, and delegate tasks. Motivate and inspire team members to adhere to standards and achieve high performance. Apply problem‑solving skills to address challenges and find innovative solutions. Adaptability and accountability to navigate changing circumstances. Coach, reinforce, encourage, provide feedback, discipline, and when necessary, terminate pharmacy team members. Perform any additional tasks directed by Supervisor or Manager. Preferred Qualifications Completion of the CVS Pharmacy Manager Emerging Leader (PM‑EL) program. 3–5 years of related work experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting. Ability to work in the home store and across other locations to meet business need. Anticipated Weekly Hours 30 hours Pay Range $65.00 – $85.00 per hour (based on experience, education and geography). The role is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short‑term incentive program in addition to the base pay range.
