· Provides instructional supervision and evaluation of nursing students while participating in Clinical Education Center (CEC) learning activities, simulation experiences, and assigned clinical rotations.
General Statement of Duties
The Nursing Simulation/Clinical Education Coordinator provides instructional leadership, simulation-based education, clinical coordination, and technical support for the Blackfeet Community College Associate of Science in Nursing Program. This position is responsible for planning, implementing, coordinating, and evaluating simulation and clinical learning experiences that promote student success and support program outcomes.
The Coordinator works collaboratively with nursing faculty, clinical partners, healthcare agencies, and community stakeholders to ensure students receive high-quality educational experiences that prepare them for safe, competent nursing practice. Teaching responsibilities include classroom instruction, laboratory instruction, simulation facilitation, clinical supervision, student evaluation, curriculum support, and maintaining compliance with Montana Board of Nursing (BON) standards and accreditation requirements.
Specific Area of Duties
· Coordinate student clinical placements with hospitals, clinics, long-term care facilities, community agencies, and other healthcare partners.
· Serve as the liaison between Blackfeet Community College and affiliated clinical agencies.
· Plan, coordinate, and facilitate simulation learning experiences using evidence-based teaching strategies.
· Develop, implement, evaluate, and revise simulation scenarios that align with course and program outcomes.
· Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot simulation equipment and technology.
· Coordinate Clinical Education Center (CEC) scheduling, utilization, and instructional activities.
· Provide classroom, laboratory, simulation, and clinical instruction as assigned.
· Supervise nursing students during laboratory, simulation, and clinical learning experiences.
· Evaluate student performance and provide timely feedback regarding academic and clinical progress.
· Verify student competency before allowing independent performance of clinical procedures.
· Create and maintain student clinical rotation schedules.
· Maintain accurate records of students, attendance, clinical evaluations, competencies, grades, and instructional documentation.
· Assist with curriculum development, implementation, review, and continuous quality improvement activities.
· Participate in accreditation preparation, Montana Board of Nursing compliance, assessment activities, and program evaluation.
· Participate in Nursing Department committees, college committees, and shared governance committees as assigned.
· Assist with student recruitment, retention, advising, and mentoring.
· Foster collaborative relationships with healthcare providers and community partners.
· Maintain inventory, organization, maintenance, and ordering of simulation laboratory supplies and equipment.
· Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and continuing education activities.
· Maintain current nursing licensure, certifications, and professional competencies required by the Montana Board of Nursing.
· Obtain and maintain simulation educator certification as required.
· Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Nursing.
Qualifications
· Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited college or university is required.
· Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) is required or must be completed within a timeframe approved by the College as a condition of continued employment. Preference will be given to applicants who possess a completed MSN.
· Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Montana or eligibility to obtain licensure prior to employment.
· Minimum of three (3) years of progressively responsible nursing experience, preferably in nursing education, simulation, clinical instruction, or a supervisory role.
· Experience teaching in higher education or coordinating clinical education is preferred.
· Experience using simulation technology and evidence-based simulation instruction is preferred.
· Must obtain Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator (CHSE) certification, or equivalent, within one (1) year of hire or within one (1) year of completing the MSN degree.
· Experience working with Native American communities, Tribal Colleges and Universities, or culturally diverse populations is preferred.

This position requires extensive knowledge of nursing education, simulation instruction, clinical practice, healthcare regulations, accreditation standards, curriculum development, student assessment, and instructional technology. The incumbent must exercise independent judgment while ensuring compliance with institutional policies, Montana Board of Nursing regulations, accreditation standards, and applicable federal, state, tribal, and local laws.

Physical Demands
Work is performed in classrooms, simulation laboratories, clinical education settings, healthcare facilities, offices, and community locations. The position may require occasional evening or weekend assignments, travel to clinical sites, standing for extended periods, lifting instructional equipment up to 30 pounds, and exposure to healthcare environments while following all applicable safety and infection control protocols.
